History

A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away...aka Columbus Grove, Ohio...a message was sent down from heaven to our founding pastor, Tim Tracy. It was that message that inspired a "new hope". A hope that a small group of believers could, and would, make an impact for Jesus Christ in northwest Ohio.

The beginnings of Family Christian Center were long on potential and short on expectations. No one knew the full extent of what God was planning. In 1987, at Calico Corners Daycare Center in Defiance, with approximately 18 people in attendance, our first worship gathering was held.

This rented daycare center gave way to a small church building in Ayersville. The "white church" as it was called, became our home for eleven years. Then in 1998, we moved back to Defiance, purchasing an old opera theater, the Valentine. In 2003, we renovated a farm supply store which currently houses our weekly gatherings.

But the history of Family Christian Center isn't just about buildings, it's about people. People with a passion for Jesus who are willing to live out His way every day. People that will be the "hands and feet" of Christ so that God's will would be done "on earth as it is in Heaven." Our mission is clear and unchanging: Helping People Find and Follow Jesus.

It doesn't matter who you are or where you've been, you are welcome to discover the way of Jesus

with us at Family Christian Center!
